How long does the competition run?
From Monday 13 August 2018 till 5pm Friday 14 September 2018.
Who is eligible to participate?
All students currently enrolled in years 3-6 in a school located in the Snowy Valleys Council or Snowy Monaro Regional Council, as well as students at Corryong College - Primary and the Sacred Heart Catholic School Corryong, are eligible to participate.
How can my child or student enter the competition?
Get creative and share with us your design for a renewable energy power station of the future with an explanation of how it will work in words, pictures or a video. Entries open from Monday 13 August 2018 and close at 5pm Friday 14 September 2018.
Please ensure you include the following information with your entry:
- Name of entrant
- Year at School
- Name of school they attend
- Contact details for parent or guardian (name, number and email), or contact details of teacher submitting students work with parent/guardian's permission (name, number, email and school)

deliver to: Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, Yulin Ave, Cooma.
Note: unfortunately we are unable to send your entry back to you so please take a copy or a photo before you send them in.
How will the winners be decided?
Judges are aware that school children and parents are busy people, so we are not looking for essays or long videos. Judges will be looking for the best 8 original works by the students, and will take into consideration creativity, explanation coherency, and originality.
When will winners be announced?
We will notify the winners directly via the contact details and announce the winning schools via a media release on our website. Winners to be announced by 12 October 2018.
What is the prize?
Winners will receive a science prize pack worth $80 and $300 for their school to go towards education resources. Highly commended winners will win a science prize pack worth $50. The winners and highly commended entries will be displayed in our Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma.
