In 2024, Snowy Hydro is celebrating 75 years of the iconic Snowy Scheme with a series of community-focused initiatives.
These initiatives include a Former Worker Reunion event, a Tumut 3 Community Open Day in Talbingo and supporting community groups through our 75th Anniversary Community Grants Fund.
With a strong tradition of celebrating milestones and honouring the legacy of the Snowy Scheme, Snowy Hydro recognises that these celebrations are deeply shared with the communities across the Snowy Mountains, many of which were established during the construction era.
Community Grants Fund
Snowy Hydro is offering a special community grants fund, with grants of up to $5,000 available. This funding will empower local community groups to honour the proud history of the Snowy Scheme in ways that are most meaningful to them.
Former Worker Reunion Event
The Snowy Hydro team invites the former construction workforce who built the Snowy Scheme, along with their families, to a reunion event in Cooma on Saturday, 19 October 2024.
Tumut 3 Community Open Day
Join us behind the scenes of Tumut 3 Power Station on Saturday, 2 November 2024. This event will be open to the local community and the visiting public and provides insight into Snowy Hydro’s operations.
