The purpose of the program is to introduce children of the Snowy Mountains to career opportunities in STEM and provide an informed foundation to support their submission into the Snowy 2.0 TBM naming competition. A tunnel boring machine (TBM) is a machine used to excavate tunnels.

The Women in STEM learning module provides teachers with resources and learning material that focuses on research skills, history, literacy, technology and science. The learning package has been designed to support teachers wishing to incorporate the naming competition into their classrooms and extend their students learning experience to discover more about great Australian women in STEM locally, current and from our past.
