Snowy Hydro expects Snowy 2.0 to create a range of business opportunities in the local region. In fact, more than 100 Snowy Mountains-based businesses have been involved in Snowy 2.0 to date. Snowy Hydro's principal contractor for Snowy 2.0 is the Future Generation Joint Venture, a partnership between Australian construction and engineering company, Clough, with global hydropower and tunnelling specialists, Salini Impregilo, as well as Lane Construction.. Future Generation is managing the project’s procurement, specialist subcontracting and workforce requirements. Employment Opportunities

Snowy 2.0 is an exciting project that will see significant employment in the Snowy Mountains region for up to six years.

Future Generation, the principal contractor for Snowy 2.0, will be responsible for directly hiring the project’s construction and services workforce. Future Generation is a joint venture between Clough, Salini Impregilo and Lane.

The project’s workforce will build slowly over the coming months, with Exploratory Works expected to peak at around 200 staff by early 2020. Main Works will see more significant employment, with a direct workforce of around 2000 expected to peak by 2021.
