About Trish White:
Trish has had a career as an engineer, senior government minister, company founder and board director. She is former National President and Chair of the Board of Engineers Australia. For Trish, working in STEM means striving to improve quality of people’s lives using technology and engineering ‘know-how’ for maximum impact.
Starting out as a electrical/electronic engineer in Queensland, then moving to Canberra to manage national infrastructure projects, Trish has worked in applied research with Defence, an executive in the mining and energy industries, and as a government minister for Transport, Infrastructure, Education, Science, Urban Development, Planning and Information Economy.
The citation for Trish’s recent award as a Member of the Order of Australia is “for significant contribution to engineering in Australia and to the people and parliament of South Australia”. She works with many of Australia’s major corporations, particularly heavy industry, leading them in their efforts to decarbonise their processes and supply chains. Trish is a leader in the energy technology and renewable energy industries and also works with companies, universities and governments to commercialise technologies that will drive Australia’s performance as an innovative, sustainable and responsible force to make the world a better place.
