The following independent environmental reviews and audits of the development have been undertaken by Snowy Hydro as required by the Major Project approval:

• Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit 2019
• Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit 2022
The most recent Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit (IEA) for 2022 found that there were no material non-compliances with the planning approval. The above reports have been provided to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment for consideration. All recommendations and required actions are being addressed by Snowy Hydro.
In addition, Snowy Hydro maintains an Environmental Management System (EMS) for its operations that is certified to ISO 14001:2015 and externally audited annually. Snowy Hydro was recertified to the ISO 14001:2015 standard in 2023, and is currently certified until 2026.
