The following independent environmental reviews and audits of the development have been undertaken by Snowy Hydro as required by the Major Project approval (05_0195):

- Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit 2019
- Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit 2022
- Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit 2025
The most recent Environmental 3 Yearly Independent Environmental Audit (IEA) for the period 2023 to 2025 found that there were no material non-compliances with the planning approval. The above reports have been provided to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) for consideration. All audit recommendations and required actions are being addressed by Snowy Hydro.
In addition, Snowy Hydro maintains an Environmental Management System (EMS) for its operations that is certified to ISO 14001:2015, and externally audited annually. Snowy Hydro was recertified to the ISO 14001:2015 standard in 2026, and is currently certified until 2029.
