How long does the competition run?
From Monday 14 August 2017 till 5pm Friday 22 September 2017.
Who is eligible to participate?
All students currently enrolled in years 3-6 in a school located in the Snowy Valleys Council or Snowy Monaro Regional Council are eligible to participate.
How can my child or student enter the competition?
Get creative and share with us your favourite Snowy fact in words, pictures or a video by 5pm Friday 22 September 2017.
Please ensure you include the following information in the entry email:
- Name of entrant
- Year at School
- Name of school they attend
- Contact details for parent or guardian (name, number and email)
Entries can be sent via:
post: National Science Week Entry - Snowy Hydro PO Box 332, Cooma NSW 2630
deliver to: Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, Yulin Ave, Cooma.
Note: unfortunately we are unable to send your entry back to you so please take a copy or a photo before you send them in.
How will the winners be decided?
Judges are aware that school children and parents are busy people, so we are not looking for essays or long videos. Judges will be looking for the best 8 original works by the students, and will take into consideration creativity, factual accuracy, and originality.
When will winners be announced?
We will notify the winners directly via the contact details and place the winners names on this webpage. Winners to be announced by 25 October 2017.
What is the prize?
Winners will get two tickets (one for them self and one for a guardian) to a behind the scenes tour of the Scheme and a visit to one of our power stations.
The winning and highly commended entries will their entries displayed in our Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma.
