Sponsorship Criteria

Snowy Hydro recognises the need to work with communities, with employees, customers and other stakeholders to support and enhance their social, environmental and commercial interests.  At the same time, however, Snowy Hydro operates in a competitive market and has obligations to enhance shareholder returns through productive investment.

While Snowy Hydro reserves the right to depart from its sponsorship selection criteria, if it is deemed in the best interests of the company, in general sponsorships should:

1) Be a community based "investment" that demonstrates a significant and reasonably certain multiplier effect. An investment that creates employment beyond the immediate value, contributes to commercial or technical innovation and education (beyond what can reasonably be expected of Governments) and motivates people/enterprises to "grow beyond status quo and go the extra yard"; or

2) Responds to a critical and special (one-off or unexpected) community need such as disasters, especially in areas where stakeholders are impacted; or

3) Have features that materially and positively impact the Company's ability to attract and retain high performing employees, that reinforces the Company's culture and that increases the pride and belonging that employees have for the Company and its objectives.
