Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management

This page is for use by Snowy Hydro contractors to obtain key information regarding the management of health, safety, environmental and quality issues when working for Snowy Hydro Limited.

The information provided in this web page, including the documents listed, is not a definitive guide to Snowy Hydro’s health, safety, environmental and quality management requirements or management system. Contractors should be aware of the health, safety, environmental and quality management requirements outlined in their contract with Snowy Hydro Ltd and always discuss these requirements with their Snowy Hydro responsible officer before arriving on site or commencing any work for Snowy Hydro.

Induction and Training

Snowy Hydro Limited has partnered with 3D Safety to create an online Contractor induction system. The aim of this system is to ensure all contractors are provided with important and consistent information regarding Snowy Hydro’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) responsibilities and requirements.

The online system ensures:

  • only qualified and compliant contractors work on Snowy Hydro sites; and
  • contractors are provided with important information about Snowy Hydro's WHS responsibilities and requirements, procedures and common hazards they may encounter.

How to access the 3D Safety system:

  1. Register your company with 3D Safety. Go to the 3D Safety website and complete the “Contact us” form.
  2. 3D Safety will respond by sending out a company registration form which must be completed and returned to 3D Safety. Be aware that 3D Safety may take up to one business day to respond to this request so ensure you allow time for this to be completed before you need to commence work at a Snowy Hydro site.
  3. Once the company is registered, each individual employee will need to be registered. This will include:
    1. uploading the following information for each individual:
      1. a passport-style photo (this must be a jpg file only)
      2. a scanned copy of the individual’s drivers licence (or equivalent recognised photo ID card)
      3. scanned pdf copies of any relevant and necessary work tickets (e.g. confined space), trade qualifications and licences (e.g. high risk work licences, forklift etc)
    2. Paying a $50.00 (plus GST) registration fee per person, payable to 3D Safety. This payment can be paid either at the time of registering the company or at a later date using the 3D Safety online payment portal, which can be accessed at any time.
  4. Once the registration fee for the online general safety inductions is processed, 3D Safety will email the nominated company administrator induction activation codes which they then assign to each employee. The individual can then access the general safety induction via the 3D Safety website, using their activation code.
  5. Once the general safety induction is successfully completed, the inductee is able to print a temporary paper worksite induction record and within one business working day, a Snowy Hydro photo contractor ID card will be mailed out to the designated company administrator (using the photo previously provided at the registration stage). The Snowy Hydro Contractor ID Card is for individual use only and cannot be used by another person.
  6. Once the general safety induction has been completed, a person will be able to undertake both entry and access inductions online. Please note that in order to undertake these inductions, there is a $25.00 (plus GST) registration fee per person per induction, payable to 3D Safety. This payment can be paid using the 3D Safety online payment portal, which can be accessed at any time.
